Renewable natural gas

Human poop, however, is not the only waste that produces RNG. Other renewable resources like landfills, food waste and animal manure can also be used. Regardless of the source and use, greenhouse gas emissions decrease when fossil fuels (like natural gas) are replaced by RNG, says the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). As well, methane from rotting waste that otherwise would have been absorbed into the atmosphere is now used as a renewable energy source.

Not Mennonite Jesus

This poor quality, but educational graphic was posted by my
good friend from Norway, Arne.

Charles Nelson Chuckles, another good friend, this is hardly Mennonite
(non-resistant) Jesus, is it?

Jesus Christ was definitely not described this way at
my time at Columbia Bible College.

Looks like the USA.

However, there are some suspicious pot houses, locally.

New Maple Ridge driving obstacle

Yes, drive very carefully and slowly in Maple Ridge.

Deducing pregnancy

Las Vegas from Jamie Zombie Clarke
Paraphrased today while leaving the fine church/home group, pancake (sometimes waffles) breakfast!

Me: Praying for you and the pregnancy.

Host wife: Thanks. I am doing okay for being several months pregnant. But it is a struggle. (With two very cute little ones already)

Me: Well, I won't state I can relate, because I obviously cannot. But I can deduce it would be tough.

Host husband: Deduce...(laughs)

(He introduces me to new folks at the home group as Dr. Russell Norman Murray)

Thanks again! Good friends. Good food. Thank you, Lord.

Fictionalized version of events

Mr. Chuck Norris

Thank you to Mr. JCZ

for good Las Vegas photos.
Fictionalized version of events:

Zombie: Hey, Chuck can I take a quick pic? I am not willing to stand in the autograph line for hours. Maybe if it was someone from Xena, but not a guy. No offense. Plus I am feeling zzzz.

Chuck N.: What they heck? Is that a Zombie trying to sneak a photo of me without waiting in the line. Come here, I will use one of my spinning kicks.

Italian looking man behind Chuck, looking over: Hey, Chuck, should I call security?

Miracles in hospitals

Facebook: I am not a dispensationalist or cessationist, but
the true supernatural cannot be humanly forced, but only
occurs within the plan of God by his permissible or perfect will.

Within Scripture the supernatural demonstrated the power of both
the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan. The ministry and healing works of Jesus Christ foreshadowed the healing within the future culminated Kingdom of God. Miraculous occurrences cannot be produced formulistically in this present fallen realm.

Don't Be A Zombie

Viewed the US, Force Factor ad again
today on television.

I named a good friend, back in the 1990's, 'Zombie' for
like behaviour.

He has wisely exchanged three 7-Eleven Big Gulp's a day
for Tim Horton's steeped tea's.

He went Canadian...that was the difference.

I have sleep apnea, not the same, but strangely enough
a partial (only) solution to Zombieism and sleep apnea
is going to bed earlier.

I am personally formerly guilty of staying up too
late, too often, but with no 7-Eleven.

Peart died on Jan. 7 after a three-year cancer battle, but the news wasn’t announced until Jan. 10. Over the period Jan. 10-13, on-demand streaming of songs increased to 24.5 million, up from 2.8 million over the previous four-day period. Sales topped 19,000 compared to 1,000, with album sales increasing 1,820 percent to 6,000.

Wednesday Snowy Bullets

I have to admit that this
reminds me of my current friendly neigbour
and friend, back in the 1990's.
• I ordered a book via eBay from Denver, Colorado in the second week of November which was supposed to arrive here in British Columbia, just before Christmas.

• As it has not arrived as of yet, I began emailing the seller in 2020. I, attempted to be understanding with the busy Christmas mail season in the United States and Canada. Finally on the fourth email to them, I received a reply today.

• The seller provided me with a full refund as they do not have another copy of the book to send to me as replacement.

• I gave the seller a good eBay review, as they did me.

• On the bright side, if the book still arrives, it is free. (Pray on the bright side)

• Recent religion conversation with someone made more brave with alcohol: (Paraphrased discussion)

• Z: Then there is the Old Testament sacrificial system with the perfect lamb. (We had just finished lamb for dinner)

• V: The Old Testament sacrificial system and anything like that is ********. Your views are ********. We all just have to be good people.

• Dr. Russ: I think it is a bad sign that all in humanity suffer and die and that God rarely communicates directly to his creation (There exists an everyday fracture between humanity and God). We cannot get religion right, just through speculation.

• V: Exactly, we all die, so who cares. We should just be good people.

• Dr. Russ: If it is divinely (and historically) revealed that sin separates us from God, it is of extreme importance.

• V: Whatever!

• Dr. Russ: It is not whatever! You hold to work's righteousness, it does not work. As can be deduced (in part) by our present human situation with suffering and death.

Later

• V: I should start my own religion.

•  Dr. Russ: Fueled by your drink...

•  V: Laughs.

•  Dr. Russ: Laughs.

Tonight: I noticed the happy accident 'alien abduction' image.

Forced societal quietness

Tonight: Only my face was stung a bit by that
snow, but now my ears feel very warm.

Seems to me, I have mentioned online over the years that Maple Ridge and Metropolitan Vancouver do not receive much snow in comparison to most of Canada

Not much snow compared to Rocky Mountain, States and Provinces, or Russia, Buffalo or Winnipeg, for example.

Philosophically, I gather a significant percentage of the local drivers do not slow down for rain or snow conditions.

This serves as one explanation for our high ICBC insurance rates, I reason. (Rain)

I was delayed for 20-25 minutes this morning driving to church as someone had, from appearances,  ditched their car and nearly missed a wood pole. This on the Lougheed Highway, not a back road.

However, it was so quiet on the road tonight, walking to Mr. Bobby Buff's house to assist him with eBay ('Golly how do you buy online?'). It was abnormally quiet and peaceful at 11 pm PST with very few automobiles on the road, and out of those few vehicles I viewed, one was alternating between being stuck in the snow and sliding all over the road.

There is something peaceful about the snow and the 'forced' societal quietness.

The quietness, rare from the snow, takes me back to how I deduce it was here hundreds of years ago and how quiet night time usually was; it assisted me in reflecting on life, humanity and God. God being the author of existence and life.

Even if no one believes in you...

Facebook
Paraphrased motivational sayings from my childhood (1980's) with my family in Amway, also knows as 'The Business'.

I appreciated the many trips to the Excited States of Americana and met many kind Americans and Canadians. I respect and appreciate many of these people; most I have not seen since the 1980's.

American culture fascinates me, second only to British/European culture, the latter, in part, with the vast historical and religious culture (s) over millennia.

American culture fascinates me, in part, for the vast variety of business and the related hype and at times high pressure hucksterism. American culture fascinates me, in part, for being so religious and yet with so many different religions, including Christian denominations and pseudo-Christian religions.

These sayings are from Amway events and associated recorded tapes. This article is not an endorsement of the sayings. They lack context, for review, as stand-alone statements.

'Diamond, Diamond, Diamond, Diamond, Diamond, Diamond, Diamond, Diamond!!!'

'Break six!'

'You can do it, if you put your mind to it!'

'I will never give up, and I will never give in.'

'Don't buy negative products!'

'Don't let anyone steal your dream!'

'You're gonna make it happen!'

'You're gonna make your dreams come true!'

c) I do not have my eye amputated (Eye ends up in a jar).

Being liked is more important than being competent

Pambula, New South Wales, on January 5, 2020 CNN

Paraphrased from a lunch meeting today:

'Being liked is more important than being competent.'
Local businessman

Profound...

This is often true in the context of business, but the businessman agreed
that it was often true in various areas of life.

It is certainly often true in academia. I would add that being known and liked is
often more important than actually being less competent than the less known and less liked competition in regard to skill and performance.

Sunday Night Bullets: Social interruption skills

Facebook

• As I have become older but still very youthful, I have definitely and definitively become more social.

• I was occupied socially double digit days from December to January 1. Many of these events were large social gatherings.

• However, in large crowd gatherings or church gatherings, I am not good at picking out someone I may want to talk to out of a crowd, interrupting conversations and related. I am not just not good at it, and I significantly dislike it. I prefer not interrupting others in conversation and prefer not being interrupted by others in conversation. (To be clear, this is not what I consider a serious moral/ethical issue!)

• I suppose this might be an extrovert/introvert difference in many cases. But I do not think that a man should have to be extroverted in 21st century North America to be considered social. I am better at one on one conversations. At a bible study, smaller meetings, etcetera.

• As far as meeting someone potentially romantic. The lack of 'social interruption skills' makes it more difficult in North American and British cultures. But I do not assume this means I do not 'man up'. I pray I will do the right things, according to God's will and that others will do likewise in regards to me, in God's will. I am not claiming perfection here, far from it.

• A problem (in this context) is meeting people from a large group in a smaller (safe) setting.

• I am concerned though that many in the connected evangelical culture expect men to 'man up' by being extroverted and/or acting extroverted. My calling is not be an extrovert, or act extroverted, but to obey God, in Jesus Christ as a social introvert, of sorts.

Facebook
• It is in my opinion, error to assume that a lack of aggressive pursuit of a romantic or any kind of relationship (or employment opportunities) necessarily means lack of significant interest.

• Watching the Swedish version of Wallander (English subtitles) relates to social comments. These three series of programs show Swedish culture in my opinion, to be much more introverted than North American, British cultures and especially, American culture. People speak more quietly.

• In the sense that it is a more introverted culture, I might fit into it better than Canadian culture. However, I do not speak Swedish (My adoption papers state I am paternally Irish, Swedish, Italian) and in my opinion I am quite large and brutish looking for that culture...😃 I would deduce indeed that I am more Irish than Swedish. No offense to anyone...😃

• Suggestion. A reason the National Hockey League is not all that interested in interrupting the National Hockey League season, which has an American champion almost every year, for World Cups and Olympics, every few years, is that these international events will more likely to be won by Canada.

Dr. Russ: Number of donations in 2019: 0

Liberal Party of Canada
During the election, one of my Gmail addresses was contacted by the Liberal Party of Canada and (paraphrased) I was asked if I wished to receive election information and to leave any comments. I replied that it was alright to send me emails and that I did not agree with carbon tax, which is in their platform. To me, where we need to fix the environment, government (s) are one entity that should make it more affordable for the average Canadian (more affordable electric vehicles, for example), and not more expensive through carbon tax.

Liberal Party of Canada
Anyway, I continue to receive and enjoy these colourful emails, as a Conservative Party voter. The Conservative Party simply texted me Federal election day and asked me to vote.

Calvinist Canine

Babylon Bee: There is no link here.

Thanks to my good friend, Chucky, for the idea.

My beloved and missed German Shepherd-Husky used to steal the cat's food, escape from Stalag 13, often by busting through the fence, or jumping over the fence, take off for hours, deposit parcels on the neighbour's front yard, look to mate the fillies and fight the competition; and of course chase more cats, other than mine.

When he returned home he would sit at the front door with his ears down. I doubt he thought himself, 'good'.

And he never became much Reformed...
