I have been working on a potential academic journal article from Chapter One of my Doctorate. I therefore as well as working out as usual, and my usual other work, thought presenting a light posting may be in order if I could find one. I then came across this 'winner', especially the YouTube videos...

What is the Quebec Soccer Federation afraid that Sikh children cannot head the ball properly?

Whether someone agrees with the turbans or Sikhism or not, turbans are not, from my understanding, going to effect children playing soccer/football and should be a non-issue.

As well, it does become a freedom of religion issue, as in freedom to practice a culturally established religion in everyday life without significant restriction and persecution.

As with the word 'Kool'. The supposed idea is one is too 'lazy' to reach for the letter 'C' while typing. Also, perhaps there is some 'Kookiness' with reality cooking programs, although I admit I watch them at times with my Mother.

As noted I live upstairs in our strata condo complex and homecare for my Mother that is disabled and deaf. When I do head downstairs several times a day, I at times watch 'The Food Network' with her since that is what is often on the television. Most of the time it seems to be Guy Fieri and 'Diners, Dumpsters and Dives' repeating endlessly for hours and hours. Sorry that was 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives'. I do admit that much of the food on that program, although not pretentious at all, does look first-rate as far as taste quality.

I have mentioned 'Chopped' on this blog previously, which is very well-produced. I have viewed several episodes.  However, for some reason whenever the lid is about to be removed on the 'Chopped' dish my satirical mind thinks of a potential satirical program called 'Chuck-ed' where once the lid is lifted there is a cellphone and a phone call from the fired contestants Mother...;)

I also noticed for the first time 'Food Network Star' on the Food Network, and they certainly look like a bunch of showoffs.

As far as my 'Kooking' or cooking skills are concerned I basically had none prior to moving to England 1999-2001, but as I have stated in person I refuse to eat c**p. I starred that out for you fundamentalist readers. I basically learned how to cook basic meat, fish, chicken and rice dishes, some frozen in the box. I placed much emphasis on buying food fresh from the butcher. I bought fresh fruit and vegetables everyday in large quantities for my meals.

My sleep apnea was not as bad at that point as when I returned home and the following years, but I did lose several pounds living in England. It was also living in Manchester where I began walking a lot and I continue that today. But I deduce that the food in Canada, and in North America is more fattening than in the United Kingdom. As soon as I moved back to Canada in 2001, by 2002 with the same amount of eating and exercise, one to two hours daily, I had regained the weight and my allergies and apnea became worse. On the positive side it forced me to be more vigorous and now with medical assistance and metabolism pills my weight is way down again permanently.

Homecaring, I am now further enhancing cooking skills, sort of, although admittedly I am not desiring to spend hours in the kitchen. Not going to happen. One of the things I really liked about French food, probably my favourite, which I really had for the first time since my childhood and our family trip to Scotland, Britain and Europe, is the sauces and enhanced flavours. I had French food again living in Manchester and going to the Continent.

Today I cook for example, chicken which years ago I was not as fond of, with much more flavouring. More often than not I am pleased with it.

Even a basic hamburger can be improved on.

As far as baking is concerned. I am a cookie monster.

But I will have to admit I will need someone to bake them for me and other baked goods and I will be the loving judge.

Sure I could learn, but eating the baked goods is more fun...

On a serious note, theologically and philosophically, I reason I am doing the right, good thing by at least having some reasonable domestic cooking skills, although this is not a major focus of my life. I am glad I enjoy what I make.  My Mother, for whom I am preparing many meals for is grading me higher as time goes by.  Although I do hold to basic Biblical, Scriptural roles, in proper researched context, I do not reason that these totally eliminate the need for common sense and reason within one's own culture and present day situation.

This is a moderate conservative position consistent with my other theology and philosophy.

I am a highly trained Theologian and Philosopher, still using my skills blogging, but at this point I am also homecaring and need to develop a certain limited yet significant amateur level of cooking ability and therefore this is theologically and philosophically reasonable.

I thought I had problems with my right eye filled with vitreous floaters, which I did, followed by a vitrectomy, lens replacement and significantly improved vision. I now have very few fragments in the eyes. 

Well, this seems like a very hairy situation to be in. Glad it seems solved...

Two points:

One, although not primarily a moral or ethical objection to tattoos, within reason, I still am not subjectively, artistically, aesthetically interested in them, especially for myself, even if temporary.

I can agree some of the art is reasonably good. But I am more into a natural look, definitely and definitively.

Two, needless to state and blog commenter Uncle Chuckins balked at this suggestion as he did not even think of it when he read the article, the concept of 666, the mark of the beast, and the antichrist will be raised, especially by Christians, connecting the tattoo and mark with a potential mark of the beast.

Eschatology and Revelation are complex Biblical topics and there are debates and discussions among scholars in regards to varying degrees of preterist and futurist approaches. The preterist understands the Apocalypse from the first-century historical setting. Mounce (1990: 41). So many of the events are tied to the fall of the temple and Jerusalem in 70 AD and/or the fall of Rome 476 AD. Mounce (1990: 41).

The futurist, eschatological view tends to view Revelation 4:1 forward as being of future events. Mounce (1990: 41).

Mounce also noted the less followed, historical and also idealist/timeless/allegorical, views. Mounce (1990: 41-42). The historical seems rather tied to historical forecasting and subjectivity. The idealist view is strong in that it pays attention to the symbolic nature of Revelation, but is weak in that it denies historical fulfillment. Mounce (1990: 42).

Concerning the mark of the beast, Mounce states that it is not the name of the beast, or the number of the name that is stamped on his followers, the mark is the number of the name. He reasons John only intended his intimate associates to understand what it meant as even Irenaeus one hundred years later did not know the meaning. Mounce (1990: 264-265).

I would not have an electronic stamp placed on my body, or in my body, far more so because of personal and economic privacy concerns, and yes because I do not like 'tats', than because of fears of the mark of the beast. 

However, that being stated, one cannot be sure exactly the nature of that Biblical mark.

I love cats and dogs, but my old German-Shepherd Husky 'Rebel', his nickname was 'Jerkhead' and 'Jerk' because of his propensity to bust through fences, or jump over them, or dig under them. Once out and 'free' he would attack other male dogs, or attempt to mate with female dogs. He also chased cats, especially our cat 'Muffin'. 

He was pretty good with people, however, Larry the landscaper, in the backyard working on the yard Rebel would later basically largely destroy, claimed that Rebel cornered him, growling trying to be macho one afternoon. I was just a kid and laughed at the entire notion. The dog at this point was a total goof.

However, this behaviour was later repeated with the sweet medical staff at the vet as Rebel/Jerk had to be knocked out like Mr. T of the A-Team when heading out on a plane.

Therefore, I can relate to the story...

No wonder Muffin hated him and took his shots when Jerk walked passed the Cadillac, the cat safely underneath.

Pinterest-Well, two homosexual guys want the woman gone, is one interpretation.;) By the way I have seen like in stalls twice in my life, both times in England. Yes in animals in prohibits procreation, but so would an owner having control of one's animal. I know with the example of our German Shepherd, surgery did not stop his 'drive'. 

Google Images-Two responses: One, for the Christian there is some truth to this sign as yes we in the Church do not always treat each other properly in the Church. Therefore, Christians should prayerfully attempt to love others both in and outside of the Church (Matthew 22, Mark 12) as neighbours and love as self and represent God well. Two, I think this type of philosophy is used as an excuse by some non-believers in a rejection of the Gospel. The Gospel, however, is true or false regardless of the actions of people, at least to a major extent, I realize the Church led by the Holy Spirit should provide significant good fruit, it is still crucial as a sign of being from God,  but the Gospel is true or false based on the evidence of mainly Biblical religious history and teaching, theology, philosophy, archaeology and related.

It was not part of the culture as much back then, but of course I would now, or train my dog to clean up like the one in the photo. I reason the Devil has some people that attend all kinds of churches. As in pseudo-Christian cults and even Christian cults, for example. Keys are to be chosen in Christ (Ephesians 1, Romans 8) and guided by the Holy Spirit unto good works (Ephesians 2) in the context of attendance at a Biblical Christian church. Study, fellowship and prayer being crucial.
