Police across B.C. step up distracted driving enforcement

There are almost 1,000 crashes in B.C. each day — an all-time high — and ICBC says many are caused by distracted or inattentive drivers.

I do not text and drive. I do not play with my mobile phone while driving.

Irony! Follows:

After work the other day, I was leaving Vancouver and entering into the wonderful rush hour, traffic, heading to Highway 1.

But the masses were stopped at a long red light. I noticed a Vancouver police officer walking between the lanes and seemingly speaking aggressively with one of the drivers.

I was thinking (later backed up by a similar RCMP incident someone mentioned to me) that this was a significant risk move made by the Vancouver Police to deal with distracted drivers. The Vancouver police officer then walked back to her patrol car parked at a fast food parking lot.

It was dark, wet (default Autumn, Winter weather here many days) and in my opinion, very reasonably sooner or later in this type of situation, a police officer in going to be clipped by a driver battling rush hour.

The police officer will be distracted by his/her job of finding distracted drivers and be injured in the process.

Irony...

I heard rumours that a certain friend was busted (ticketed) for distracted driving...

At work, I wore a suit because there was an event that evening and I am the Regional Director for British Columbia and the Yukon. One brainy twenty-four year old co-worker told me that I looked like I was there to do her taxes...

At study group, the study leader complained that he had been called a 'hipster' twice that day.

I countered that I have never been called a 'hipster' (Do not have a beard and have no interest in one), but I have often been told that I look like a 'gangster' and a 'Mafioso'. Apparently via my adoption papers, paternally I am Irish, Swedish, Italians (Roman Catholic). Ukrainian (Greek Orthodox) maternally.

Facebook Christmas season suggestions 2018

I was just searching through Facebook News Feed and here are some Christmas season suggestions:

Cuddle with a bear.

No. I value my body parts too much to risk being (just in case, as I am not a bear psychologist)  ripped apart when Mr. Bear realizes that I am not actually Mrs. Bear.
There is actually considerable human wisdom there. Even yesterday I heard a preacher state that we should know who our enemies are. Even so, biblically we are to love our enemies, Matthew 5, Luke 6, and this includes in non-Christian season, just to be clear...

Sorry Scots, those who claim Christ are not to seek everlasting vengeance against the English.

Sorry again, this includes loving people with radically different political and religious views...

Should that be my attitude with website critics?

Well, I should at least prayerfully listen to criticism and then prayerfully consider whether I should flush it or not. Or how much of it should I flush?
Hey! Do not knock it. Do you know how much money I have saved over the years? Hmmm, am I running out of paper towels? I still have plenty of toilet paper...

You deserve a break today?

'Poo found on every McDonald’s touchscreen tested'

Traces of faeces have been found on every single McDonald’s touchscreen swabbed in an investigation by metro.co.uk.

Samples were taken from the new machines that have been rolled out at restaurants across the country – every one of them had coliforms. Senior lecturer in microbiology at London Metropolitan University Dr Paul Matewele said: ‘We were all surprised how much gut and faecal bacteria there was on the touchscreen machines. These cause the kind of infections that people pick up in hospitals.

You deserve a break today?

As I have written in the past...many McDonald's are just not clean enough. No excuse for a billion dollar corporation.
