  1. Those are classic clips. Drogba's dive is one of the funniest I have ever seen. The Chelsea forward can be a real clown, but he is a sensational striker at times.

    Drogba diving storm
    26 March 2006 - 13:29

Chelsea striker Didier Drobga has insisted that he doesn't dive after admitting to during an interview.

The Premiership leaders have been fighting off claims about their players after Newcastle defender Robbie Elliott was sent off for a challenge on Shaun Wright-Phillips in which the Chelsea winger was not touched.

Their case has not been helped by an interview Drogba carried out for Match of the Day last night, in which he admitted that he dived.

"Sometimes I dive, sometimes I stand," Drogba said, before correcting himself by saying, "no, I don't dive."

The Ivory Coast international was already at the centre of a handball debate from yesterday's 2-0 win over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, where he admitted to handling the ball in the build-up to Chelsea's second goal.

However, his comments on diving, especially in the aftermath of the Newcastle FA Cup tie, have caused the most publicity and he later issued a denial.

"Unfortunately in the emotion of winning the game, my comments have come across partly in the wrong way," Drogba said on Chelsea's official website.

"I want to make clear that I don't dive, this was the intention of my answer."

After yesterday's win, Chelsea now need 13 points to guarantee that they retain the Premiership title.
