Meanwhile Too...

Lake Como, Italy, Travel+Leisure, Facebook

My weekend off...things to do people to see. However a kind soul from Stumpleupon passed this site along, I reason based on the previous 'Meanwhile...' post.

Therefore here is 'Meanwhile Too...'.

This may end up working...

I appreciate the support.

Meanwhile on Facebook.... Biblical Christianity states from New American Standard Bible, 1 Timothy 2:9-10: Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, [a]modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, 10 but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. Footnotes: 1 Timothy 2:9 Lit with modesty. The goal is modesty but not a covering up which nearly completely makes female appearance publicly irrelevant. If female appearance is nearly publicly irrelevant it is questionable how a female could be a full-fledged participant in culture and society. As male and female are both created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27) both are to be involved fully in human culture and society. Here is a very good example,of having a reasonable contextual and theological understanding of Scripture applied as opposed to allowing traditional societal regulations to govern activity.

Facebook-This does not bother me, but pulling vehicles over during rush hour does. Yes someone may be technically speeding, after being bumper to bumper...

I think it is very kind how people from Alaska play 'tag' with the wildlife. The Polar Bears must have some real advantages with the natural camouflage.
Okay, this photo was featured some time ago on this blog. I have been on thousands of blogs and many of then run by females. Here is a tip from a kind but realistic Christian 'man of the world' as my Dad states. If you tan so much that you start looking like you are from another ethnic background, another race, or another planet...you should consider another hobby other than tanning. Please note, this message also applies for 'tats'.

This may become an Olympic event where the competitor is also judged on riding and texting abilities.
Well, I have read some conservative Christian posts claiming that opening up Western marriage laws would lead to all kinds of new possibilities...Is this a couple at a barbecue? Just wondering.
Is it not interesting that with the size of him with the equipment that he makes himself so small that a beach ball actually appears to fit in the net? He plays in Florida now...really, no joke.
I have to be honest, this likely looks like Maple Ridge on Friday and Saturday night.
I think I knew a Claude Morin once...
A military clone with enhanced human abilities?
Weekend family lunch in Georgia?
Based on photos from my 'Icelandic fan club', I reason this is an Icelandic car wash to raise funds for a trip to the Continent, or London. Here Cinderellas and Barbies will appear in massive group photos.
Indian UPS...
'Hey, I thought we were mates'.
That would be much more 'kool' if he was riding a 'Gator'. So is that a Florida DUI?
Yikes...
Walmart drive in?
No food for me...I think I would find an exit ASAP.

I am @ a Baptist church in Surrey now, a megachurch where the Hintz also attend.

The pastor is preaching in Ecclesiastes and made some interesting points.

    Ecclesiastes 7:16

    English Standard Version

Be not overly righteous, and do not make yourself too wise. Why should you destroy yourself?

He used overly religious Christian people as examples.

He used a charismatic example of a charismatic, 'machine gunning' him in the Holy Spirit.

    I see hyper-charismatics as a good example.

He stated basically that Christians should witness as normal people. Agreed.

Baptists came into my head as a good example as over-righteous, not all of them but some, in particular, and we do have some locally that grew up in the evangelical church and wisely with good parenting, avoided many of the evils of the world.

The problem is now they may at times tend to judge in a Pharisaical way those with different backgrounds and challenges.

The evangelical Baptist that grows up sexually pure through good parenting, is blessed. It is a good thing.

The perhaps newer Christian that was sexually involved at a young age, in-part, due to questionable parenting, perhaps alcoholic parents, for example, may at adulthood struggle with sex in a way the lifelong evangelical does not because of physical experience and related pleasure.

    I am not excusing sin.

The pastor then went on to state that 'Game of Thrones' parties were celebrating a show with no redeeming values and exploitation of women.

I watch the show and as I have posted on, agree it has many negatives. I am not interested in the parties.

I problem with stating that a show should be avoided because it shows exploitation of women is that if one is too be more objective, and less subjective, and is to be intellectually consistent, then many, many television shows and movies that show exploitation of women would need to be avoided.

I would bet, certainly, some would fall within the pastor's watch list.

Personally, my take is that Game of Thrones does not celebrate this exploitation but shows it in a parallel historical reality to Medieval England and Europe.

On the other hand, sex and nudity sell, and this is likely a consideration. Celebrating abuse, no, but finding interested viewers through nudity, yes.

As noted, besides finding the show, and 'Vikings' as well entertaining, I find them interesting studies on the problem of evil as I do seeing dungeons and torture museums in Europe.

Do, I take pleasure in bloody stuff? Absolutely not, never have and very likely will, God-willing.

But I do not find the evangelical Christian family safety seal programming in itself alone, intellectually stimulating.

Then again, I would view 'slasher horror' films as virtually having no redeeming qualities, with the few times I have had to view portions, or forbid the whole film, back when I was younger.

I see this films as glorifying evil whereas I take it 'Games of Thrones' is almost a back-handed support for Romans 1-3, stating virtually, see what an evil lot we all are and have been.

What about the Food Network, should a show like Chopped be avoided because it appears to at least somewhat support the homosexual agenda?

    The whole network avoided?

    The cable provider avoided?

    Distribution companies avoided?

    My take.

  5. From Facebook:

I think people are found because it is a public social networking site...

    And quite successful.

Blogger is better suited for people that would like to be left alone, or Google+, perhaps Stumbleupon. (Grin). I know. Most of my Facebook friends are not mutual friends, some contacted me first.

Oh wait, a minute, if you want to left alone by all means join LinkedIn...lol.

  6. And also from FB:

In my opinion, it was a more difficult work life for me working @ full-time academia and especially with UK research theses that needed to be revised again and again nearly infinitum. Plus no salary or commission. But there was flexibility in the hours. Now with a full-time 40 hour work week, weekday afternoons and evenings, I do not like having anything to do earlier in the weekday, other than awakening, eating and prep for a long drive. It is quite late when I arrive home and so I eat, watch a bit of television, blog/Facebook and go to bed.

On weekends I have shopping and homecare duties, Saturday. On Sunday I try and take a day of rest, but again there is a long drive to church, although a pleasant one compared to weekdays into Vancouver.

But for example today my washroom needed to be cleaned...

  9. Another funny trainer story in regard to racism. Now when I state funny, please remember context as in boys club at work...

So we laugh at some of the bad things in life.

I was talking to Sikh trainer, Mr. S, and stated how I remembered when I was in Elem. School that all East Indians were called 'Packies' or 'Packys' by many school children. Trainer stated that this finally started to change 10 or 20 years ago. But before then he one day was out on the water (probably the Fraser) and I white guy sailed up to him and stated 'Go home you Packie'. Mr. S cursed him out and stated 'You do not even know what I am'.

  12. After watching the movie Cinderella, five-year-old Sarah started using her pinwheel as a magic wand, pretending she was a fairy godmother. "Make three wishes," she told her mother, "and I'll grant them."

Her mom first asked for world peace. Sarah swung her wand and proclaimed the request fulfilled.

Next, her mother requested for a cure for all ill children. Again, with a sweep of the pinwheel, Sarah obliged.

The mother, with a glance down at her rather ample curves, made her third wish, "I wish to have a trim figure again."

The miniature fairy godmother started waving her wand madly.

"I'll need more power for this!" she exclaimed.

  17. Here is a key cultural difference to ponder on...

    Facebook: People You May Know

Most of my Facebook friends I have not met in person. Some friend request me, I request some.

I friend some that appear Christian, or I think might be looking at my profile, posts and blogs.

I sent out three friend requests early this morning to Latin America, that happen to be three attractive women. They all seemed to have Christian postings. It turns out two are married and one engaged.

All three are new friends when I check morning email.

With some North American and Europeans that have been observing me for months and years and certainly know more about me than the three from Latin America...

    No Facebook friendship.

    Not even Google+.

No attempt to even interact to find out if we should be web connected, as friends or other.

It is as if it is pre-set before we even met online.

Again culture, society, family and local church greatly effects our worldview and Christianity.

  18. Listened to Song of Solomon online prior to work get ready today. One of the Hebrew Bible books least familiar with...

    English Standard Version

    2: 5

I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.

    English Standard Version

    8:4

I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.

And may that be a Biblical lesson out there for all those lurkers out there trying to sway me with pageview attention on Facebook and Blogger.;);>
