Missed The Target?

Sun News January 15

Target was a new lead store in Maple Ridge (yes I know this states volumes as Maple Ridge is very green environmentally but not so 'green' economically) and therefore a new tenant will be needed at the downtown location (not far from this locale).

Maple Ridge is no Vancouver.

I will with hesitation state, that with very much hesitation, when I was looking for career alternatives, prior to earning my security licence, I considered applying at Target Canada and the new Maple Ridge store.

Mr. Bobby Buff (let him take some of the blame) had suggested that I apply at Target.

I considered with my education applying for management training and therefore attempted to work through the Target Canada website.

Again with very much hesitation.

I have applied for many employment opportunities online, but this was one of the worst websites I have attempted to navigate.

I doubt I even officially applied in the end as the site worked so poorly.

For example, under employment history, I would type 'Homecare' or 'Homecaring' as in working on behalf of my disabled and deaf Mother that lives downstairs. This Target Canada website would not accept either and instead I had to choose an actual homecaring company.

To choose one would not to truthful, would it? Why would the site not have self-employed as an option?

This data entry worked the same for other entries. I think in the end I completed all I could with the application, frustrated by the lack of professionalism on the site and abandoned the site.

Instead, I wrote an essay by email, separate from the site, describing my qualifications and what I would be looking to offer to Target Canada.

They responded within a few days with a generic email that the store would be opening soon.

The store now closed two years later...

Therefore, based on my limited experience with Target Canada and the news I have read since the entry into Canada; this recent news is not surprising.

Condolences for those that have lost employment.

Around the web...

Hit the target...

  4. One morning Emma woke up with a start. Her husband Jim asked what was the matter. She told him, "I just had a dream that you gave me a pearl necklace for Valentine's day. What do you think it means?"

    "You'll know tonight," Jim said.

That evening, Jim came home with a small package and gave it to his wife. Delighted, Emma opened it, only to find a book entitled "The Meaning of Dreams."

    Interesting.

I ran into this dating coach on Google+ last year and she has some advice for Christians and I have dialogued with her a bit.

She understandably, as she needs to make a living, charges for advice, and I am not willing to pay for a coach, now or likely ever, but I note that the rate has come way down. Anyway, some of her videos and emails are sent for free.

She states that persistence is key to obtain a woman.

In contrast, Doc Love and Don Steele enforce again and again that if a woman does not like you, to move on.

In fact, Don Love states basically, one chance per lifetime per woman. So if a woman rejects you, she is toast.

    He is militant.

That is also easier to exercise in a secular world with a larger pool.

A good friend of mine was rejected but eventually married his wife and stated there was no one else. They are Christians.

Don Steele, states to focus on ones that show interest.

Problem is, and I state this respectfully, women are masters of the contrary and with the web and in this philosophically messed up and sometimes stupid western society and messed up views on age difference and ageism and the fact I am not admittedly 'Tom Cruise'; but I am also admittedly one of the best Christian guys out there as far as commitment to Christ; there appears to be some younger women that check me out, but basically only do that.

I don't think Doc Love's approach is the dating 'gospel', but on the other hand, I do not want persistence as in being a man to be seen a stalking or desperate which I hate and see as a waste of time.

I am not desperate but am very interested. If I stay single, I don't like it, but better than the wrong person. My record speaks for self.

    Respectful suggestion.

    Put God into this issue.

Walk the walk, walk the talk.

    Love thy neighbour...

How would you like to be treated if you liked someone?

    Walk in the man's shoes.

Perhaps that is how you should treat the other person in a step of faith. (Matthew 22, Mark 12).

And we are to obey God above man and not society and even family (Acts 5).

I could see persistence being worthwhile when I could see a step of faith in Christ from the other side.

Do I consider the other side? Yes.

I simply move on, as noted. It takes two interested...
