More Regrets The Older One Gets?

Facebook

Vancouver

The longer one lives the more facts can be known, if one is wise

This reminds me of one of the most profound things my former Pastor stated, for me anyway, and I have shared this on the Blogger blogs previously.

He stated that when one is twenty years old they have few regrets, but by the time they reach forty years old they have more regrets, and by the time they reach sixty (his approximate age) years of age they have even more and greater regrets.

I know that human beings being finite, need experience to learn, but it seems to me by being open-minded to facts and wisdom it can save one many regrets.

Theologically from a Biblical perspective it places one more likely in God's perfect will as opposed to God's permissible will.

  1. Interesting the 'attention' or 'harassment', depending on how one wishes to view it, I receive from Facebook, especially with the mobile version, in regard to this blog. Latest message included.

Currency options included, I suppose I should not use CDN and should choose British Pounds.
Facebook tells me the latest post is responding better than 95% of them (how exciting) and therefore I should pay them $8.00 for promotional purposes with the post list. My purposes in this blog are non-profit and non-prophet...obviously.

  4. The last few days, a co-worker named Frank, Mom's Station Nurse and Mom's social worker [I rep. for my Mom] have told me I work too many hrs. True enough but the blogging is not going to go as I need it for sanity and work related, Mom helps me with meals but she still needs overall help and I live upstairs, plus I am always looking for better work...with PhD would be nice. And I still socialize more than when I was a student. Just the way w. society is today...I have told work NO 12 hr shifts and others that are getting called often are beginning to follow my lead. A company needs to cover with new employees.

My cousin is gay; in school while other kids were dissecting frog, he was opening flies.

  7. FOOD AND DRINK

I drink too much. The last time I gave a urine sample, it had an olive in it.
I’m at the age where food has taken the place of sex in my life. In fact, I’ve just had a mirror put over my kitchen table.

  8. NO RESPECT FROM THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY

I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous; everyone hadn’t met me yet.

  9. VISION

My wife was afraid of the dark, saw me naked, now she’s afraid of the light.
I told my doctor that when I woke up in the morning I couldn’t stand looking at myself in the mirror. He said, “At least we know your vision is perfect.”

  10. FAMILIAL LOVE

I remember the last time I was kidnapped, and they sent a piece of my finger to my father. He said he wanted more proof.
My uncle’s dying wish: he wanted me on his lap. He was on the electric chair.
I looked up my family tree and found three dogs using it.
When I was a kid, my parents moved around a lot. But I always found them.

  11. When I was born, I was so ugly the doctor slapped my mother.
My mother had morning sickness after I was born.
When I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up.
Yeah, I know I’m ugly. I said to the bartender, “Make me a zombie.” He said, “God beat me to it.”

  20. Here @ work in the AM as a colleague is a no show (again). Another kind colleague in his fifties, divorced, two kids wants to date younger women and does but does not want to be married or have children. He mentions the topic often. I stated research tells me if that is your approach you will likely have the classic younger woman-older man, beauty for money arrangement. If you want a lasting relationship seems to me one needs to be youthful, willing to marry and have children which would be the biblical model and mine. My colleague prefers attempting a middle position, which I am skeptical on.👎Reminds me of some of R Don Steele theory I have read...
