I have thought this for many years

New Testament manuscripts from within the Christian community of Jesus Christ, his disciples, apostles and scribes, as witnesses, concerning the claims of the life and works of Jesus Christ, are not reasonably debunked by outsiders from Arabia, from the 7th century forward. These Islamic texts, as one example, claim that Jesus Christ was a prophet (only), when clearly from John 1, as one key reference, the eternal Word of God was God.

John 1: 1-5 NASB (New American Standard Bible)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 [a]He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him [b]not even one thing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of mankind. 5 And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [c]grasp it.

a John 1:2 Lit This one
b John 1:3 One early ms nothing came into
c John 1:5 Or overpower

God the Word became God incarnate. (John 1:14). Jesus Christ, God incarnate. God the Son.

John 1: 14 NASB (New American Standard Bible)

14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

A mistake made within Islam has been to attempt supernatural, religious continuity between Christianity and Islam. To debunk Christian claims, especially in regards to anything trinitarian, the supernatural authority of Christian scripture should be denied.
