| Holiday High-Light Festival, Vancouver Wrong kind of Dr., right diagnosis In the summer, I noticed a minor medical issue. Although I only have one official day of medical training, I have been told, according to medical doctors, I have good patient knowledge. I attempt to use my PhD research abilities to research ailments. I realize that I am very limited in regard to medical knowledge. Of course, I am still a kingpin, with good overall health, so do not get any wrong ideas... I studied online and I came up with a diagnosis. I attempted to fix myself, but I did not have the right tools, or to be honest, the knowledge. I made an appointment with my MD at the clinic I have been at from babyhood to bachelorhood. My regular MD was away. The very kind, knowledgeable more junior, female MD disagreed with my diagnosis and did a procedure based on her diagnosis. Based on her superior medical intellect and not wanting to seem sexist or chauvinistic, which I am not, and went along with it. The problem did not go away and today my regular MD confirmed my diagnosis. He also agreed with me that I do not have the tools to dig deep enough to do this minor, in office procedure. He laughed when I stated he would think I am an idiot for trying the surgery myself and botching it! I am back for the procedure, next week. |
