Thoughts

I keep informing a friend that within the Western world, 'singles' is 35 years old plus. Do not expect
young adults to attend 'singles' events you sanction.

This is an ageist, presumptuous, group think, culture which generally lacks the serious consideration of intellectual, philosophical, subtleties. There are some people within that are exceptions.

If one wants to meet young adults, one needs to attend church events (and/or ministry events) as opposed to 'singles' events.

It is usually assumed by many within Christian ministry and within the Church that people of a similar age are at a similar point if life. Assumed often, when I listen, by the Boundless ministry with Focus on the Family, for example.

This risks using lazy thinking.

Take me versus three good friends for example:

Me=r
Friend one=f1
Friend two=f2
Friend three=f3

35+ years of age (We are of similar age)

r=yes
f1=yes
f1=yes
f3=yes

Wish to retire?

r=no
f1=yes
f2=yes
f3=yes

Married?

r=no
f1=yes
f1=yes
f3=no

Have children?

r=no
f1=yes
f2=yes
f3=no

If single, would you marry a significantly younger woman?

r=yes
f1=no
f2=no
f3=yes

If newly married at our age (group), would you have children?

r=yes
f1=no
f2=no
f3=yes

Would you marry into a pre-made family?

r=no (Perhaps if very young children)
f1=no
f2=yes
f3=yes

Wish to travel in Europe?

r=yes
f1=no
f2=no
f3=yes

Wish to travel in the United States

r=yes
f1=no
f2+yes
f3=yes

Wish to work in full-time ministry?

r=yes
f1=no
f2=yes
f3=no
