'After woman sells virginity for $780,000...Website Virgins Wanted have ended biddings for the virginity of two participants.'
Quote:
'The winning bid has now been revealed; a Japanese man, of unknown age, known as "Natsu" has offered $780,000, and been accepted. Migliorini originally said she was doing this for the poor, as she will donate a portion of the funds to her local community in Santa Catarina.
She will apparently be 'delivered' to her buyer on board a plane between Australia and the U.S. to make the act legal, being interviewed before and after the sexual act. "If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer", said Migliorini.
"The auction is just business, I'm a romantic girl at heart and believe in love. But this will make a big difference to my area," she told Folha newspaper.
A man, Alex Stepanov, has also auctioned his virginity on the site, but only reached a bidding of $3,000. Both will be paid $20,000 and receive 90 per cent of their sale price. The winning bidders retain their right to be anonymous.'

'Japanese man pays $780K for virginity of 20-year-old Brazil woman, who’ll use money for charity housing project A man from Japan called Natsu fended off strong competition to secure a date with 20-year-old Brazilian student Catarina Migliorini, who is set to sell her virginity for a $780,000 after she put it up for auction online in the name of charity.'

'Catarina's move sparked outrage across the globe, with many claiming she was little more than a prostitute. She also caused controversy when she revealed she would be followed every step of the way by an Australian crew for a documentary film called “Virgins Wanted.”
But, she said: “I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it. “If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer.'
'Sex toys will be banned from use and a condom will be compulsory, with Catarina saying she was prepared to prove to any sceptics that she has not had sex before. Natsu will be tested for sexually transmitted diseases prior to the encounter.'
In regard to semantics from The Concise Oxford Dictionary (1995), Oxford.
Prostitute (first three definitions)
1a a woman or girl who engages in sexual activity for payment.
1b usually male prostitute, a man or boy that who engages in sexual activity especially with homosexual men for payment.
2 a person who debases himself of herself for personal gain. (p. 1100).
'"If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer", said Migliorini.'
If a person was to participate in a paid sexual act once and only once for charity and for a website, as in this instance, I can acknowledge that it does not make one in philosophical terms and in modern terms, what would be understood as a professional sexual worker or professional prostitute, as in a one that does such acts for a 'career'.
This would be an unethical and immoral career based on Biblical standards. There is for example the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament commandment in Exodus 20: 14 in regard to adultery, adultery being even more sinful than intercourse with unmarried persons. Gordon (1986: 171).
The penalties for fornication being less as in Exodus 22: 16.
However, in the New Testament, Jesus Christ as God and man clarifies the spirit of the law and notes that to even lust after a woman, and therefore any lust in general, is adultery of the heart and sin, as in Matthew 5: 27-32.
According to Oxford, and in my mind, reason, philosophically, even at once instance, even for charity, based on definitions 1a and definition 2, the person noted is a prostitute.
It is a sign of the times, in my mind that a person reasons it ethical and moral to commit an act of prostitution with one's virginity, or supposed virginity, not making a judgment, in order to assist charity.
Today many ethical acts, such as assisting a charity are seemingly committed with other unethical and immoral acts. I reason this is a sign of being in the post-Christian era and also in an era where there is a breakdown of the family unit where a Father and Mother, or parents, Christian or not, often did not guide, for various reasons a child into adulthood with basic common sense morality.
Ethics and morality to avoid much of the evil and suffering in life.
Such as, one's virginity should not be sold.
And yes this would make one a prostitute if even not a professional sex worker.
A Christian position from parents would be more intellectually solid because of the Biblical backing, the revelation from God.
The 'just business' argument is very questionable in my mind in regard to the sexual trade. The sex worker may be able divorce emotions and commitment from the 'work' most or all of the time, but the client seeking sexual desires in lust, obviously has more than just financial business on the mind.
Even if the client too can largely divorce emotions and commitment from sexual activity, clearly lust and lust in action does not merely philosophically equate to 'just business'.
I am not at all approaching this as someone who reasons he can throw stones, as with John 8 at the adulterer. I too am a sinner, as in not having a spirit and body fully purified from sin and restored in the resurrection, but this story and these articles do demonstrate a sign of the times and sinful errors made.
