19 month saga winding down

Image: Facebook

When my Mom, whom I had homecared for almost twenty years, passed away, 19 months ago; I did not think it would take this long to finally be winding down this legal process. This complicated by the sad, unfortunate, surprise passing of my brother in November.

I signed emailed documents from my probate lawyer today and thankfully, with income, savings and inheritances, I am in good fiscal shape to pay a final tax, having already paid government and legal fees. This even with the rising condominium values.  I will not create new debt, and only have a very manageable mortgage with my property.

I am not going into debt like one good friend had to in regards to the estate of his parents.

Taken to the cleaners...

As my Grandma is Calgary told me (Mom's, Mom) shortly before her passing: 'Don't get old!' By God's grace I am youthful, but death is unavoidable as is judgment from a New Testament perspective:

Hebrews 9:27

King James Version (KJV) 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
