False Satirical Story On Pastor...

'Cornerstone Church Denies Claim That Pastor John Hagee Said Women Who Use God's Name While Having Sex Should Be 'Thrown in Jail'

This is good to read, as when I originally saw a related article, I thought that it was absolutely ridiculous.

My thinking was that with all the issues in this fallen and problematic present realm and age, for a Pastor to focus on that issue would be foolish, but it appears to be a work of satire, and not written with kind intentions.

A Cornerstone Church official denied Monday a report that claims their senior pastor John Hagee said women who shout God's name during sex should be "thrown in jail" in an interview discussing the 10 Commandments.

The San Antonio, Texas-based church told The Christian Post in a telephone interview that the claim is false and that the church's lawyers are looking into the situation. "The story is a complete fabrication. It's written by a website that makes up these kind of stories in an effort to be humorous. All media outlets that have picked up this story have been contacted by John Hagee Ministries and will issue a retraction or face legal action," said an official statement from Cornerstone Church's legal department shared with CP.

Hagee's remarks about women were originally reported in an interview by Newslo.com.

Robust Enough?

My audio comments are intentionally brief. Audio posts are more difficult for me to produce properly than written articles, and yet I need the practice. Personally, I think my public speaking is improving but I am the lecturer type and it has its strengths and weaknesses as far as online presentation is concerned.

In my academic career, I, for one, did not appreciate long lectures...and I have four earned academic degrees.

I had originally planned four to five points with this audio post but in the end edited to two because of the retakes and because the more one states the more one has to consider the consequences.

And I already have several anonymous and secret readers.

I am commenting on the need for robust theology, while admitting a blog post is limited media.

Therefore, ironically, a blog post will only be so robust.

I will use text for explanation of the audio.

I am replying with the first point to a sermon that was suggesting that England and Great Britain are in decline primarily because of rejecting Israel (Genesis 12: 3).

This done in favour of Palestine.

I counter with the idea that a rejection of the Biblical God for secularism, overall, would be a more likely reason for a decline.

That being stated, I still hold to what I stated here:

'I certainly would prefer that there was less secularization and more Christian influence.'

I reason in the post that Europe was never predominantly Christian, so its ceasing and end in this realm should not be assumed because it is becoming more secular.

In the case of Europe, the United Kingdom and the Western World becoming more secular and turning from God would in my view certainly have negative consequences, but I am not assuming this means the Western World will completely disappear or be obliterated in this present realm.

Playboyism versus Biblical View

Google+

From

2003 The Problem of Evil: Anglican and Baptist Perspectives: MPhil thesis, Bangor University

Interestingly, Woods mentioned Playboyism, and stated of Hugh Hefner, Publisher of Playboy Magazine: "Hefner rejects any philosophy that holds a man must deny himself for others. The Playboy outlook says a man should love himself preeminently and pursue only his own pleasure." Woods (1974)(1982: 108).

Woods noted that happiness should be a result of a responsible life. Hedonism is not responsible since ones pleasure often exists at the expense of someone else’s pain. For example, considering Playboy, where women are viewed as objects sexually by both Hefner and the willing women participating, this magazine brings its participants money, fame and sexual gratification, but the Playboy philosophy represented in the magazine, through mass media influence, also causes women in society to be viewed as objects by many men. This can cause many women to be overlooked for their intellect, and looked upon more for their sexual beauty.

So, in a subtle fashion, the Playboy philosophy can bring pain to many people in society because Playboy Magazine exploits sexuality when, in reality, sexuality belongs in the context of marriage/committed relationship where the inner beauty of the person is more important than their outer image. With the Playboy philosophy, the outer beauty is far more important than the inner beauty. It must be admitted that Hedonism is pleasurable to people.

For example, as a pastor of a local church recently stated, most men struggle with pornography at some time. An advocate of the Playboy philosophy may state that its critics secretly desire that lifestyle. There can be an element of truth in this, but a wiser person, and certainly a Christ-centred person, should see that sexual conduct outside of a healthy marriage can lead to many destructive things such as divorce, abortion, venereal disease, HIV, and public disgrace. Only sexuality in commitment leads to something fulfilling over a long period.

The Hedonism represented with Playboy is irresponsible in that it hurts people and puts short term pleasure before long term fulfilment. Thus, it escapes the struggle of a serious relationship leading to long term fulfilment and instead seeks easier, shorter relationships. This, in no way, avoids evil. It simply promotes more evil in that extreme human selfishness just leads to more people being hurt.

With this story there is yet another public breaking of romantic confidence and trust made for financial gain once the relationship is over.

These are sexual relationships not based on Biblical concepts of marriage.

Instead these would be Biblically considered sinful (1 Corinthians 6) of fornication.

Many in the media and observers would focus on the massive age difference as the key problem in the story, but I reason that is the wrong focus.

According to documentation, Hefner started Playboy in 1953 meaning he was obviously not seventy years old at the time and was much closer to the age of his household female guests.

Yet, those relationships were not lasting and long-term either.

Admitting persons do need to significantly relate, it is the worldview and morality behind the relationships that are key and primary as opposed to the age difference of the people involved in the relationships.

A Biblical, Christian worldview when properly followed (Matthew 5, 1 Corinthians 7) requires lifelong commitment, in monogamy whereas a Playboy philosophy is not committed to such.

'She reveals that Hefner had even submitted semen samples to a fertility doctor – only to discover that nothing was viable.'

There are definite ethical and philosophically problems with a seventy year old man that continually throughout his life always desires to be with younger women.

But, even if a man seeking true love at seventy years old fathered a child it would still be true that he would be ninety years old when his child was twenty years old.

The child will likely not have a father for much of his/her life.

However, I am not stating that such a relationship should never take place.

I will leave up to God to judge the rightness or wrongness of such a relationship and children occurring as a result.

I do disagree with the concept of an older man that is continually attempting to find younger women with various relationships over many years, as this places far too much importance on physical beauty and sexuality.

This is different than my situation where I am someone that is 35+ without significant experience and children that would like to find a younger woman and have a family one day and then would be able to settle into marriage and over time with an older wife.

In other words, twenty years into the relationship one would not be looking for a younger wife, once again.

Of course one would need to stay youthful, exercising and eating right like Chuck Norris, Mr. T and alike so his wife would have no regrets as well...

FIFA Russia & Qatar World Cups Could Be Taken Away?

FIFA Compliance Head Says Russia, Qatar World Cups Could Be Taken Away'

'ZURICH — Russia and Qatar could be stripped of their World Cup hosting rights if evidence emerges of bribery in the bidding process, the independent chairman of FIFA’s audit and compliance committee told a Swiss newspaper.'

The FBI’s investigation of bribery and corruption at FIFA includes scrutiny of how soccer’s governing body awarded World Cup hosting rights to Russia and Qatar, a U.S. law enforcement official told Reuters this week. Domenico Scala told SonntagsZeitung that FIFA the two countries could lose the hosting rights should evidence emerge of bribery in the bidding process.

Cited

"If evidence should emerge that the awards to Qatar and Russia only came about thanks to bought votes, then the awards could be invalidated," Scala said in an interview published on Sunday. "This evidence has not yet been brought forth."

Russia and Qatar have previously denied wrongdoing in the conduct of their bids for the 2018 and 2022 tournaments, which were not the subject of charges announced by U.S. prosecutors last week against FIFA officials.

Twenty Eighteen is much closer chronologically than 2022 and so therefore it is much less likely that Russia will lose its award as it would be that much more difficult for a country to prepare for the FIFA World Cup in just three years.

Preparing for a World Cup in three years even for the United Kingdom or United States with all their football stadiums, as rumoured; or other very viable Western European sites such as Germany, Spain, Italy or France would be a very major task.

As well, I deduce that because of politics that the Western powers and FIFA are influenced by such, would not want to further politically alienate Russia by embarrassing that nation by taking away the World Cup.

I would therefore be very surprised if Russia has the FIFA 2018 World Cup taken away.

However, due to the poor situation with worker's rights, (see previous post) and the fact that Qatar is a non-Western and non-European nation and that the FIFA 2022 World Cup was switched from the traditional Spring-Summer to Autumn-Winter; I would not be at all surprised if Qatar has the FIFA 2022 World Cup taken away.

And awarded to England, the United Kingdom, the United States or a Western European country.

And yes, the United States along with Switzerland is taking the lead in the investigations...

On a personal note, after approximately five years of various sleep apnea treatments I have reached a goal of weighing 200 pounds.

I am 5 foot 10, 200 pounds, solid and muscular. I have sort of MLB homerun hitter look...no steroids required.

I do not look anything  like a FIFA footballer, but more like one of the security forces on the sidelines.

I shall continue with the treatments for now and thankfully once I lose the weight it stays off.

If the issue came down to the most reasonable FIFA World Cup host candidates surely Europe with all of its football stadiums and top leagues would be awarded most of the World Cups.

No doubt the awarding is political.

The United States, Brazil and Argentina also being viable candidates. The United States of course with many professional league and NCAA University stadiums and Brazil and Argentina major football leagues.

Even Canada would make more sense as a site than Qatar, hosting the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup and with several new and renovated stadiums in the country.

With Qatar being awarded the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It will be the first Autumn-Winter World Cup due to the intense heat that would occur in the Spring-Summer in that time of the year.

Quite the political compromise.

Further, is FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) even necessary?

Could not UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) which is the most powerful football association by far featuring the most powerful and wealthy leagues, simply host the UEFA World Cup inviting nations that qualify from their own regional confederations/associations?

Perhaps the decentralization of football is needed?

On the other hand, perhaps UEFA would become as corrupt as FIFA?

But as it stands now, as UEFA is where most of  the football money is at, FIFA is not really necessary in my view.

It is a level of unnecessary, political bureaucracy.

Both FIFA and UEFA have headquarters in Switzerland.

James 5:1-6

Misuse of Riches

5 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. 2 Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! 4 Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of [a]Sabaoth. 5 You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have [b]fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and [c]put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.
