Forbes 2016: Most Valuable UEFA Football Clubs

Real Madrid: You Tube

Once again I seriously, satirically, review a Forbes sports club list.

Forbes 2016: Most Valuable UEFA Football Clubs

Forbes 2017

US Dollars

1. Real Madrid

3.65 Billion: Value
694 Million: Revenue
162 Million: Operating Income

I think the revenue might be a more impressive figure than the club value. The current UEFA Champions League Champions, and eleven time winners, continually provide a first-rate product. Once again in 2017, Real Madrid are among the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey should take notes. Notes on the winning Real formula, not just winning more bank notes.

Note:

It appears Toronto has turned over a new and more winning Leaf.

As per usual, Phony Madrid, also known as Fake Madrid, is not doing as well as Real.
Fake Madrid: Facebook

Phony/Fake Madrid

$365.00: Value (The kits)
A dozen Taco Bell, 2 for 1 coupons: Revenue
Several knee operations: Operating Cost

Phony/Fake Madrid are stuck in the bottom level of Spanish football, sort of like bad football phony karma. However, they still play in front of larger crowds than do the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.

Another problem facing Phony/Fake Madrid are the constant media rumours of the club being relocated to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Quebec City and Markham. The club is not supporter owned as no one will claim public responsibility. It is secret ownership.

2. Barcelona

3.56 Billion: Value
675 Million: Revenue
108 Million: Operating Income

Real Madrid is slightly 'fatter' in the financial department than FC Barcelona, and FC Barcelona is significantly 'fatter' in the logo department than Real Madrid. In European football, 1970s nostalgia can succeed! This shows that a club can get away with a fata** logo if it has players like Lionel Messi on it.

As with its thinner logo cousin, Barcelona are once again contenders for the Europe title, although Barcelona is scoring and conceding many goals.

3. Manchester United

3.32 Billion: Value
625 Million: Revenue
190 Million: Operating Income

Interestingly, Manchester United has a higher operating income than the 'two Spanish giants.' Progress is being made, but they still lack some offensive punch. Speaking of which, while football touring, my good friend 'Si P', stated that touring in the United Kingdom was no problem, as over the years he had only been punched in the head twice...

Note:

To my dear friend 'Si P', that by colonial, North American standards, that would not be 'kool' baby. But, granted we have not had as many wars in North America as in Europe, so perhaps we are not as sensitized to violence. Although, Vancouver has had those Stanley Cup loser riots (1994 and 2011).

4. Bayern Munich

2.68 Billion: Value
570 Million: Revenue
60 Million: Operating Income

I support, on a club level, Arsenal, Manchester United (season ticket holder for both when I lived in England) and Bayern Munich, that I viewed live once. At present, Bayern Munich is the most interestingly to watch and follow. Thankfully my 'newish' Telus cable has some channels that show the occasional Bayern Munich, Bundesliga (Federal league) match.

For some of you Americans reading, Bundesliga does not mean, 'Beer League'. Sorry.

5. Arsenal

2.02 Billion: Value
525 Million: Revenue
122 Million: Operating Income

As it is obvious Arsenal need to hire a better manager with some reasonable championship level 2017 football tactics; perhaps the clubs lacks the funds? Is a PBS like telethon in order? The Knowledge Network here in British Columbia have them too...
