$100 Million Dollar Pizza?

Little Caesars
USA Today May 26

'Muslim man sues Little Caesars, claiming 'halal' label on pizza was a lie' '

Ann Zaniewski, Detroit Free Press'

'DEARBORN, Mich. — A Muslim man is suing Little Caesars for $100 million after he says he was served and then accidentally ate pepperoni made with pork, a food prohibited by Islamic law.

The complaint says Mohamad Bazzi ordered halal pizza twice from the Dearborn, Mich., shop. The boxes were labeled "halal," but the pies inside were topped with regular pepperoni.'

'Majed Moughni, Bazzi's attorney, said he rushed to file the lawsuit Thursday, the eve of Ramadan, so no other Muslims would accidentally eat pork from the pizza shop during the holiday.'

'He added that for a Muslim, consuming pork is "one of the worst sins you can do."'

'Jill Proctor, a spokeswoman for Little Caesars said in a statement that the company believes the claim "is without merit."'

'The issue of non-halal food labeled as such has landed in court before. In 2011, McDonald's was sued over claims that the fast-food restaurant was selling non-halal chicken it claimed was halal.'

'The case was settled for $700,000. However, some Muslims, including a group led by Moughni, said the settlement money should have gone to the Muslims affected, not to organizations that were based in Detroit or not affiliated with Islam.'

I viewed this story on Tucker Carlson Tonight, on Fox News.

Theologically, according to the New Testament, rejecting Jesus Christ as God/Man, and his atoning and resurrection work through the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is the worst sin one can commit.

Food choices, although important for health, are not primary in regard to knowing about God, or knowing God personally.

John 14:5-7

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

5 Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” 6 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. 7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”

The members of the trinity are distinct persons and yet of one essence and nature. God the Son, taking upon himself, human nature.

This type of supposed food order error, when it does actually occur, in my philosophical and non-legal opinion, is worth nowhere near a six plus figure legal compensation. A free pizza per week, for the rest of one's natural life, would be a very generous compensation, perhaps? This would be a common sense approach, respecting religious freedom and supporting the corporate ability to do reasonable business.

Pepperoni, mushroom, pineapple, and extra cheese is my personal favourite. From Pizza Hut, of the major chains. The small family owned businesses, many times have excellent pizza.
