Trip day 6: Cranbrook & Mountain time

Today, on the way to Cranbrook and a switch to MDT from PDT. The tour has me making some quality contacts and further developing my vocational skill-set. This is a rather promotion tour and I do hope to lecture on bible and the programs of the society more so in the future.
I am not a 'homer' but I have to admit that my home Province of British Columbia, from all corners, provides the natural beauty of God's creation. Revelstoke is my favourite
stop so far, with excellent Greek pizza (my favourite in years) and a very well-designed
downtown core which is rather Europe-like. Apparently 36 Celsius heat today... Again I do not generally show photos of others for privacy reasons. But apparently my employer has the legal right to do so...;)

Trip day 5: Slow Wi-Fi

To Ferry for Creston.
I am at a church in Creston, British Columbia. The Wi-Fi is so slow that the photo is a no go, for now. But the dinner was a very kind gesture, thank you. I am touring with a Society biker event. Not a Christian, Hell's Angel's or even Charlie's Angel's, but bicyclists for the Society. I know little about biking and would not be caught dead or alive navigating on bike those mountains, that I have to drive. But a good bunch for bibles.

I would be good at a long walk for bibles...see Utah posts.

Trip day 4: Leaving New Denver

Leaving New Denver: I stopped at New Denver today, which I had never heard of before. It was a scenic little town. I am in Nelson at First Baptist Church tonight. It was 37 degrees celcius today.

Trip day 3: Slow boat to China? & Puppies for sale!

Today

Smart business...
Today featured a slow, but nice ferry ride to Nakusp with around 35 Celsius weather.  I am so fried from the heat in my SUV, I am going to bed before 10 pm.

A nice lady and husband, while waiting for the ferry, showed their puppies that are all sold. More can be ordered, of course.

Sold plastic lettuce?

Seems to me if it was'plastic lettuce', I cannot call her a liar, it was a one-off. I have noticed like on some produce and assumed it natural, although off-putting.

One inch...elbow (Slain in the Spirit?)

Flickr

I am by no means in the Bruce Lee class as a martial artist. Nor, will I ever be in this life.

I work out with weapons a lot now, to make up the difference.;)

However, Bruce Lee had the 'once inch punch' and I appear to have the 'once inch elbow.'

Now for years, when I pass Pope Chuckles at church during communion (on the rare occasions he attends the same church), I will sometimes give him a slight nudge or shot in the stomach while walking back to my seat. You would think Saint Chuckles would be a little more prepared after double digit years. I walked by him at TriCity Church a few weeks ago returning to my seat during communion and gave Chuckles a slight shot with my left (weaker) elbow in the stomach. Next thing I know, the gentleman behind him is holding Mennochuckles and his chair up, as if Chucky had been 'slain in the Spirit.'

Google maps took me for a ride

On the way home...

Thirty-eight minutes late for a ministry and work-related church event, as Google maps decided to change my destination while I was driving on the freeway...

Vancouver to Munchen?

TSN July 21 2018

From my home town club to one of the clubs I support, and one of the biggest club's financially in the world. A good move for the player.

This does demonstrate the 'feeder' league nature of Major League Soccer at this point, while at the same time, again, Bayern Munchen is one of the largest clubs in the world.

Bayern does need to become younger and faster, in my mind.

Dyer reports that the Whitecaps and Bayern are "close" to getting a deal done for a base transfer fee of $12 million which would be a MLS record. There would also be bonuses based on performance, says Dyer.

The 17-year-old made his MLS debut with the Whitecaps in 2016 and played 26 games last season. Davies has scored three goals and added six assists over 20 matches this season in Vancouver.

Last evening...on mobile phone (paraphrased):

Me (Regional Director): I have the boxes of stamps to deliver to you.

Male church friend: Sure, just drop them through our mail box.

Me (Regional Director): I have an SUV full, as I explained to Mrs. church friend.

Male church friend: Really? I will ask the wife...(Interrupted).

Mrs. church friend.: (Grabs phone). No problem bring them over.

I arrive:

Male church friend is assisting loading boxes of stamps from my SUV to his truck: (Laughing), I cannot believe what I said about putting the stamps through our mail box.

Fixing my final kicktipp statistics: July 14

July 14, 2018: The Hindu

Reviewing my statistics this Saturday morning, I realized looking at the kicktipp website that some of my statistics needed to be revised.

I am not certain if the website made changes or not. So, I have edited previous kicktipp entries.

With clarifications, I can write that with only the final match remaining:

I picked 7/8 correct group winners.

I picked Germany, incorrectly as World Cup winner, but have picked France since Germany's first match.

I have picked 8 correct scores.

I have picked 6 correct goal differences

I have picked 40/63 correct results, which is .6349 winning percentage and 63%.

If I am in error and Croatia wins the World Cup tomorrow, I will sit at 40/64, .625 and 63%

If I am in correct and France wins the World Cup tomorrow, I will sit at 41/64, .640 and 64%.

This is the last kicktipp entry for this World Cup, as I will update my football results pages on Sunday, God willing. Overall, I am pleased with the correct results, not so much with the correct scores and correct goal differences. But, I scored 45% with a similar system of choosing W1 W2, D, with Euro 2016 and this percentage of correct results is a considerable improvement! I still consider the Euro 2016 a good score within that system which was not identical to kicktipp. I had three results to choose from each match, so 45% is a good score.

Kicktipp July 11: Too bad England, but I am at sixty-five percent

I am at .650% and 65%.

Again lacking that skill and finish to win it all, but still a great country. I am 7/8 and .875 and 88% for choosing the correct group winners. Sadly, I switched from France to Germany for Champion and paid the price...

Too bad. Again with England still lacking that skill and finish to win it all, but still a great country.

Popularity is not most important

I will admit that as my Facebook business page followers numbers are pretty flat, I wonder if many people bother to read the page, or connect to links on this Satire Und Theology website, and the Dr. Russell Norman Murray website via it. But, this message from Facebook is positive, and popularity is not a prime goal anyway. I aim to do God's will and present interesting truth. British football games: The first video is from Actua Soccer 2 (1997), a birthday present from Uncle Chuckles and myself. I had never played it prior to last evening. We did a bit of a practice session and then we played the CPU in three matches. I scored on my first shot in a match (video and photo). I have a level of expertise on Actua Soccer (1996) and Actua Soccer 3 (1998) and have played each game almost from release. My egotistical goal is to master the middle game in a week! The next two videos are rare long shots from Actua Soccer 3 (1998) The goofy Egyptian music is not from my collection, but I was watching Poirot on Knowledge Network.

I am at 66% and a .6551 winning percentage.  The semi-finals are difficult to predict as each game seemingly, reasonably could go either way.

Kicktipp: My birthday and Europe 4peat!

FIFA

By God's help, I was correct on both quarter-finals matches today and now sit at 64% and a .6428 winning percentage.

Overall this competition is going much better for me than UEFA Euro 2016 did. Admittedly, Brazil is a very good club, but as I have noted over the years on this website, the British football media, in particular too often choose Brazil and Argentina, each World Cup as favourites, especially Brazil, where this analysis often significantly lacks objectivity. This has been the case since 1982, at least (my first World Cup I viewed on television). This media, including their Canadian counterparts are stuck in an old football paradigm of South American superiority which is outdated since about 2002 to 2006. Europe will 4peat with World Cup victories and four different winners and have a 12-9 continental overall lead over South America, which I reason will not be overcome.

Why not buy that $45, 000 RV? kicktipp : July 3-4

Vancouver July 3

July 3 (Paraphrased)

Walmart teller to person in front of me: My husband works all the time and we have two kids. Why not buy that 45, 000 dollar RV?

Me: (Thinking)

a) You work at Walmart. You are not an executive. Humbly live within limitations, until they change, if they do (I did for years). You probably cannot afford it. b) You probably have a mortgage and should keep your debt to that item.

Going into the quarter-finals, I have a winning percentage of .6296 or 63%. I have picked too many 2 nill or more scores.

High Plains questionable preacher

I prefer newer films for the technological advancements in film production, but I prefer classic films (usually) for theological and philosophical content.

New American Standard Bible

Romans 12:9-13

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; [j]give preference to one another in honor; 11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the [k]saints, [l]practicing hospitality.

As that context is those in the Church, the practice of taking reasonable care of others also applies to those not necessarily in the Church. There is the classic New Testament story of the Good Samaritan as example from Luke 10.

High Plains Drifter (1973)

Preacher: See here, you can't turn all these people out into the night. It is inhuman, brother. Inhuman!

The Stranger: I'm not your brother.

Preacher: We are all brothers in the eyes of God.

The Stranger: All these people, are they your sisters and brothers?

Preacher: They most certainly are.

The Stranger: ...Then you won't mind if they come over and stay at your place, will ya?

Spain loses

Rodney Dangerfield

I tell you, with my doctor, I don't get no respect. I told him, "I've swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills." He told me to have a few drinks and get some rest.

Some dog I got too. We call him Egypt because he leaves a pyramid in every room.

What a dog I got. His favorite bone is in my arm!

Last week my tie caught on fire. Some guy tried to put it out with an ax!
