Wednesday Bullets: Group stink?

• I was looking for a Facebook friend on my friend list today and found Norman Murray,

• Thankfully the Norman Murray, account had been deactivated. I did not accept a friend request with that name.

• But as can be seen from the image, I still unfriended the entity.

• If it was a scammer pretending to be me in the past, I am glad that account was deactivated.

• If it was someone that had (has) something against me, I once again state that people should reasonably talk issues out where possible, even to disagree, agreeably with mutual respect on worldview and issue differences.

• Within my biblical worldview, I hold to: Romans 12:18 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

Medium.com

• Cited: '“Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.” — George Carlin'

• In a more literal sense, rioting comes to mind. The 1994 and 2011, Stanley Cup riots in Vancouver...

• One of my eye surgeons told me he was basically caught in the 2011 riot outside, but wisely with his group departed quickly.

• He stated that while hiding out with his group at a McDonalds, one of the customers decided to throw his (his own) dinner up in the air.

• In other words start a McRiot...(my add)

• In a more figurative sense, lack of corrective, critical, thinking in large groups, as in significantly shared societal concepts, can be found at times through fallacious reasoning:

Friday, June 04, 2021 Verecundiam, Argumentum, ad & Argumentum ad Populum

• Argumentum ad Populum: Which is a fallacious, false appeal to popular authority.

• As example, within the Church, is when people quote the well-known pastor and/or well-known teacher as an expert, as if he/she is obviously so highly regarded that his/her views cannot reasonably be challenged.

• At a church apologetics conference once a proponent of libertarian free will implied there was no point in me  (with my MPhil-PhD  and website researched compatibilism) disagreeing with his famous expert because this expert was doing layups like LeBron James.

• I replied that I did not play basketball...

• In contrast to ad populum, anyone can be reasonably challenged by a reasonable premise (s) and conclusion in disagreement.

Bullet Wednesday: Only take what is given to you

•  Photo: Arne's source of food, drink, social life and temporary shelter (until he has to walk home) in Norway. (Arne photo)

---

• Everything good I have comes from God, and everything bad I have comes from God.

• I am not in regards to my successes and failures, denying my own secondary causation. I am not denying my sinfulness; (Roman 3: 23) 23 for all [a] have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... New American Standard Bible. (NASB)

• But I am acknowledging God as sovereign and providential, as the primary cause (the first cause) of all things, either by divine direct will or divine indirect (allowing) will.

• I am not denying in reality, in many cases, secondary causation from other finite sources, finite entities, including human beings, angelic beings and demonic beings.

---

• Only take what is given to you.

(I am not claiming this was a supernatural message from God, but this statement did come to mind while praying and is in regards to relationships. I am thinking of me specifically and not 'you' in a generic sense.)

Sunday Bullets: Walking around secondarily

• Thanks to my friend, Russell, from England, for posting on Facebook.

•
Amazon: Cited: Rectitude:“If you think you are too small to make a difference, you haven’t spent the night with a mosquito.” African proverb quoted by the Dalai Lama. Paperback – June 2, 2019 by Bereket Abraha Negassi (Author), Leah Rubin (Editor), Tamian Wood (Illustrator)

•  From a New Testament perspective, it seems to me each believer is to do their part as a part of the body of Christ, within the Kingdom of God,  1 Corinthians 12-14.

• King James Version (KJV) 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many.

• The amount of difference I make, is up to God as the primary cause, directly or indirectly, of all things.

•  I am merely a secondary cause of my deeds. But with full moral accountability where I can significantly embrace, in significant freedom, through my human nature, consciousness, thoughts, desires, will, choices, acts/actions, that lead to the deeds I have committed and accomplished.

• That is a speculative chain, with some fluidity, of how human beings commit actions and is not always identical in my writing.

• I was invited to a political town hall today by 'The Red Dome', that flaked out in the heat, and did not walk to downtown like I did, but instead drove.

• So I walked downtown, met my friend, and then quietly checked out the public speakers and had a brief discussion with the kind leader of one of Canada's political parties.

Quote: Give me 5 minute to wake up love

Arne knows what is 'Best' when it comes to snacks, meals, hamburgers and the local ATM. If Zombie (others), and I ever visit Arne at his residence in Norway, that gas station will be a major social hub. It is like the Carnegie Hall of his region.

What the local church is for some of us, that Best gas station is for Arne.

Arne is perpetually stuck in estate limbo and needs that gas station for survival! Rumours that Arne, daily, has been jogging, or walking vigorously, the distance and back between his residence and 'Best' are not substantiated.

Arne, the African 'luva', the Norwegian Benny Hill, half asleep, mistakenly responds to the wrong message on Facebook Messenger. Mr. Hill in error, responds to our Against Forced Isms, chat. He should have walked to that local gas station earlier for some coffee and a wake up jolt.

These are the only football prediction competitions I have entered. I think I have entered three Stanley Cup predictors, but did not keep track as my picks never became the Stanley Cup Champions. So 0% for those as those are, in many ways, all or nothing, which I dislike.

Realistically having first watched the Stanley Cup Playoffs significantly enough for a reasonable prediction in 1980, as a child, my Stanley Cup Finals prediction record is 33 correct and 8 incorrect, so 33-8 which is 80.48%

Assuredly, the prediction has changed throughout the playoffs and even in some Finals, back and forth, but I am noting my Finals predictions from what I thought before the Final began and not during.

Briefly Sunday

Briefly Sunday

Church this morning, our first regular service in over a year:

Paraphrased

Fast Eddie (Greeter): Russ, you are looking good.

Me: Thanks.

Fast Eddie: You even shaved.

Image one from Facebook

Image two from Facebook: Here again the National Hockey League (NHL) and its partners sell products representing defunct, sometimes relocated clubs that they still own the rights to. But the fans from these markets, unless they have a replacement team (Minnesota and Colorado, as examples, here), are in a sense, still NHL markets, but with no local club. In other words, pretty limited benefits for these fans.

Canada Day Bullets: Japan

• My Dad bought three of these same knives, one a few weeks ago. This one that arrived yesterday is my early birthday present.

• From Japan, the Huusk, Premium Control Knife.

• Paraphrased comments from a good, foodie friend of Asian descent, that has a very good knowledge of the Metro Vancouver restaurant scene, having been to many of local restaurants, many times.

• 'That is the sharpest knife.'

• 'Organized crime uses that knife to chop up its victims, to hide the bodies.'

• 'Do not drop that knife on your foot, or you will have no foot.'

• From Thursday, May 13, 2021 1:30am: SPONSORED:Huusk Japan Knives Review: Legit Kitchen Chef Knife or Fake?

• Cited: 'Huusk Japan Knives are broadcasted as the world’s first-ever premium control kitchen knife that anyone from the average Joe to a top chef should have in their respective knife rolls. Handcrafted with excellence in mind, each Huusk Japan knife is said to feature precision, laser-carved hole for the index finger (which gives the knife its increased control), traditional Japanese steel for utmost sharpness and a premium oak wood handle for optimal comfort, grip and handling of produce. As if these features aren’t enough, the creators of Huusk Japan Knives have added more to the list.'

• Cited: 'Handmade: Each and every Huusk Japan knife has supposedly been handmade to provide the best quality knife. This also ensures that the added details last over a long period of time without a scratch.'

• Cited: 'Ultimately, the Huusk Japan knives have been inspired by Japanese samurais, namely by their swords, which are used during battles. Facets including sharpness, ergonomic grip and balance have all been included in this respective knife, which as per the advertisement are true to knives made by expert Japanese knifemakers.'

• Happy Canada Day!
