Vicious Regress practical example

In contrast to the view expressed in the satirical graphic below, one could hold to a view similar to me that political systems (and therefore within all relevant political parties) by nature, contain politicized, corruption in a fallen world. This includes unethical views and actions and at times illegal actions.

I will grant that dealing with illegal corruption takes priority and when that is not found by authorities, the default political priority for voters, and therefore political parties, is policy. In other words, policy is more important than personal attacks and ethical fault finding in the political game, by one party against another.

In the Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy, Simon Blackburn discusses ‘infinite regress’ and mentions that this occurs in a vicious way whenever a problem tries to solve itself and yet remains with the same problem it had previously. Blackburn (1996: 324) A vicious regress is an infinite regress that does not solve its own problem, while a benign regress is an infinite regress that does not fail to solve its own problem. Blackburn (1996: 324). Blackburn writes that there is frequently room for debate on what is a vicious regress or benign regress. Blackburn (1996: 324).

Investigators investigate investigators to infinitude. So, each investigator requires an investigator. The first person in this satirical example, investigated (President Trump) could also (besides his opponents) require an investigation of the investigators, further indicating this infinite, vicious regress.

This is not a political website, but Mr. Steyn often makes me laugh. Classic tonight.

Bullet Sunday: Thankful for Google

Bullets

• Unlike some conservatives (I consider myself a moderate conservative), I am thankful for Google. They provide me with free Blogger, Gmail and soon Google+ will be gone and not be missed.

• It is good to be part of a sane singles group...My 'new place' might even host in the future.

• The media states the Vancouver Canucks are in a rebuild mode and fans and followers need to wait for young players to develop into legitimate, National Hockey League players. I state that every club has young players. I am not impressed with the default, not making the playoffs, mode. Figure out how to be a top club without mainly top picks because the successful team usually finishes in the top 1/2 to 1/3 of the League (see Tampa Bay Lighting and Boston Bruins). You are in a large Canadian market, figure out how to be better, not just average with the above average revenue.

• Virtually every political administration has corruption. But, a key is for opposition to focus more on policy than personal attacks against the leader (s). Otherwise it looks like the opposition, to many observers, is not worth the vote.
Facebook: Snipping Tool image: No thank you.
Facebook:  Careless party people...
I mean, a whole, long, most of them sleeping, 12 hours went by and I had not posted. Dear Facebook, excuse me for having an offline life...

I do appreciate Facebook too.
Facebook: I ASSUME some male friends could use back hair clippers. How about back clipper and tattoo remover???  This photo is most  unappealing, my most humble apologies. Not that I look exactly how I would like, far from it, but I just have a different definition of 'Kool baby', than many it appears. I mean the harry tattooed look somehow became kool and I was asleep at the wheel?

Time travel?

Business Insider

Brian Greene: I'm Brian Greene, professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University and co-founder of the World Science Festival. It's critical that you realize that there are two types of time travel, and they are radically different. Time travel to the future? Definitely possible.

As I read this, even though I do not have extensive scientific training, I understood this article. For my PhD research I read through Einstein's text 'Relativity', photo and cited below. I gathered basically the view below, from my PhD reading.

He showed that if you go out into space and travel near the speed of light, and you turn around, and you come back, your clock will be ticking off time more slowly. So, when you step off it's going to be the future on planet Earth. You will have time traveled into the future.

He also showed that if you hang out near a nice strong source of gravity — a neutron star, a black hole — and you kind of get right near the edge of that object, time also for you would slow down real slow relative to everybody else. And therefore, when you come back to Earth, for instance, it'll again be far into the future.

This is not controversial stuff. Any physicist who knows what they're talking about agrees with this.

But the other kind of time travel — to the past is where the arguments start to happen because many of us don't think that time travel to the past is possible. The main proposal that people at least consider worthy of attention for traveling to the past does make use of a weird concept called wormholes.

A wormhole is something that really … Albert Einstein again discovered. The guy has like got his name written over everything in this field. It's a bridge, if you will, from one location space to another. It's kind of a tunnel that gives you a shortcut to go from here to here.

Now he discovered this in 1935 but it was subsequently realized that if you manipulate the openings of a wormhole — put one near a black hole or take one on a high-speed journey — then time of the two openings of this wormhole tunnel will not take off at the same rate, so that you will no longer just go from one location in space to another, if you go through this tunnel — through this wormhole — you'll go from one moment in time to a different moment in time. Go one way, you'll travel to the past, the other way, travel to the future.

Now again, we don't know if wormholes are real. We don't know if they are real whether you'll be able to go through them. So, there are all sorts of uncertainties here. Most of us think that you're not going to actually go on a whirlwind journey through a wormhole to the past. But it's still not ruled out.

I can accept documented, empirical, reasonable, science and accepted these premises during my PhD reading. The first type of time travel is reasonable and possible.

Philosophically, I seriously doubt that a finite entity can naturally, within the physical, material realm, technically time travel to the past. I reason this would be logically impossible.

I suppose that supernaturally, theoretically, God could reverse and repeat events and/or simulate the past. I can grant solar time could be slowed down or sped up. If God did create a situation where events were reversed and repeated, this would be a repeat of events (more than once) and not, technically, time travel. However, biblically, time in this physical universe is linear only, by implication from Genesis to Revelation. Therefore, although I reason that God could dabble with the past, he clearly will not.

Protecting rights and freedoms

Thank you to Mike Robertson for posting on Facebook.

From a Christian Church perspective, persons being together in unity, is a way to protect rights and freedoms.

From a Western world perspective, persons being together in unity, is a way to protect rights and freedoms.

From a human perspective, persons being together in unity, is a way to protect rights and freedoms.

Trolls

Web trolls are blocked on my Facebook account and Page. As my Russell Norman Murray, PhD Page remains public, any troll comments, including those from blocked persons, will be deleted.
And for anyone that pays attention, he/she will realize that with laptop and mobile versions, almost always available, comments will be deleted quickly.

It is reasonable to have a different worldview (s) on spirituality, religion and philosophy without trolling. My friend Russell in England is an example of this in regard to my writing and his, and how we interact on each other's websites with respect.

Web troll comments will be deleted on my Blogger websites.

Apologies, Apologies...

Former Canadian flag the Red Ensign, Wikipedia

Honestly, Blogger comments have become so rare, I have not checked for them in years.

When I do receive a rare comment, it is usually from a person with a Google account and it appears at the bottom of an article.

No problems.

I stopped checking comment moderation, years ago.

And of course most of the comments are on the Russell Norman Murray, PhD page which promotes my Blogger articles.

But, I noticed some new comments from Unknown (s). I published them all this morning, other than one person that stated I was boring.  A troll...If I am boring, why are you are boring self on my website?

I know one of the comments, at least, is from a woman I have met at singles group, once...she stated like on Facebook.

Anyway, here are the matching links and moderated comments posted. One is from my original website as well, and again, so sorry...

Bullets and images on a sunny Winter Saturday

•Some wise words in a video presentation from an online Eastern European dating coach, that now lives in the United States. Dating someone from Eastern Europe is not a focus of mine, but I do follow her Facebook Page and occasionally listen to an audio post. Basically (paraphrased) she criticizes some men that contact her, often older men, looking for a date from her. When she does not respond, they often become negative and angry with her. I agree with her that these men should be respectful and that the true nature of these men in shown when they act, in my words, sinfully with her, in their responses.

•Virtually everyone rejects and is rejected, romantically, but as a biblical Christian, there is the New Testament ethic to love God firstly and others secondly (Matthew 12, Mark 12) and also specifically to love others in the Church (John, I John). This should prevail over the pain of rejection. When I reject someone, I prayerfully pray to the Lord to do the right thing.

• If I  could not 'get over' someone (someone was always on my mind 'Elvis') then I probably made an error and need to consider repentance of my rejection, and be open to divine-guided alternative, whatever that would be. But, thankfully, this has never happened to me.
Facebook: Biblically, and within my Reformed theology, human nature is originally caused by God, and then God willingly allowed the fall of humanity. Humanity now has a corrupt nature, a sinful nature which leads to through, limited free will, sinful thoughts, acts and actions. God remains the primary cause, in perfect goodness of all things, including human sinful thoughts, act and actions, where human beings are a secondary cause.
Romans 3 from the New American Standard Bible

9 What then? [g]Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; 10 as it is written, “There is none righteous, not even one; 11 There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God; 12 All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.” 13 “Their throat is an open grave, With their tongues they keep deceiving,” “The poison of asps is under their lips”; 14 “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness”; 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood, 16 Destruction and misery are in their paths, 17 And the path of peace they have not known.” 18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Therefore, humanity is very limited in a change of ontological (existence) nature, but can be regenerated through the atonement for and eventually resurrected through the applied atoning and resurrection work of Jesus Christ, God the Son.

This can also occur at sporting events, concerts, and sadly, at some churches...
Facebook: Premises and conclusions should be well-reasoned, and not simply followed. I imperfectly seek the Lord's guidance, by grace through faith. To simply follow the masses is spiritually fatal.
