Short Religious Bio

This week

In light of President Trump's world religious tour of Islam, Judaism and the Roman Catholic Church; this short religious bio is as close as I get...

Obviously, President Trump and I are not in the same league. His Twitter account is much larger and I have a British PhD.

I just heard something on an online sermon.

The first statement is generally, but not always true.

Paraphrased:

One will never regret not stating something questionable and controversial.

One may regret stating something questionable and controversial.

Short Religious Bio

Adoption papers

Biological Paternal family

Roman Catholic Church

Irish, Italian, Swedish

Biological Maternal family

Greek Orthodox Church/Eastern Orthodox Church

I am not Greek, although I was accused of being so by a drunk in downtown Manchester. The way I sunburn, I somehow doubt I am Greek...

Ukrainian

Adoptive parents

The United Church of Canada, Liberal Protestant, Christening

Our family attended a local Baptist church some of the time and eventually nearly full-time. At this Baptist church, I fully embraced the more biblical, gospel message and theology.

Adulthood, Canada

Mennonite Brethren Church, Adult baptism and membership

Christian Degrees

Columbia Bible College, Mennonite Brethren, BA

I accepted the teaching where biblical, but rejected Arminian theology in regard to soteriology, free will and determinism.  I found 'Calvinistic', Reformed theology far more reasoned out and biblical.

One professor stated: (Paraphrased)

John Calvin was more brilliant.

But...

Menno Simons was more enlightened.

I found John Calvin more brilliant and more enlightened. I compared both theologies to the Bible. (Typical me, finding another angle)

Canadian Baptist Seminary/Trinity Western University, MTS

I further embraced Reformed theology within Anabaptist and Baptist contexts.

Adulthood, United Kingdom

Anglican Church, England

Ivy Cottage Church, England, Non-denominational, charismatic

I attended these churches short-term for reasonable, biblical teaching and fellowship. I made some lifelong friends.

Secular University

Bangor University, MPhil research degrees

The University of Wales, Trinity Saint David, PhD research degree

I wrote these as a moderate conservative, Reformed theologian and philosopher of religion.

Returned to Canada

Began Blogger websites in 2004 and 2006 with an emphasis on Reformed theology and philosophy of religion.

I completed British theses via distance learning.

Presbyterian Church of America/Canada, membership

Although reasoning believer's baptism is a stronger biblical position than infant baptism, I do not reason the latter is heretical, in regard to Scripture and agree on issues of God's sovereignty and soteriology.

Mennonite Brethren Church, membership

I began attending services and events and was asked to become a member at a Mennonite Brethren megachurch network with definite and definitive, leanings in regard to Reformed theology.
