Astronomical sizes are so hard to comprehend. Compared to us Earth is huge, yet it is no more than moon compared to one of the "giant" planets of our solar system.
I wondered how large the supergiant star Antares was compared to our solar system. I was going to do the calculations but I was too mind-boggled (or just too lazy).
According to the Wikipedia entry for Antares, our sun along with the orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars would fit inside Antares!
Then we have the Milky Way galaxy, and more and more galaxies....
This clip has similar content to what was shown in photos with the link below, but the clip shows two larger suns than Antares.
