The link below is from Army, one of my links on both satire and theology and thekingpin68. I just clicked on the link and this is what is stated:

Below is a controversial VW commercial:

From Scripture Jesus Christ is noted as eternal (John 8:58) and is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 22:13). Christ is God. Christ's resurrection from the dead and his overall support from historically based Scripture provides him with a huge edge in the credibility department.

Avatar Adi Da Samraj claims to be the supremely great spiritual being. This is a false claim.

I do find these type of religious commercials interesting. The commercial overlooks the fact many world religions have such different views on the nature of God, that they could not reasonably be expecting the same final ultimate spiritual being. Christianity is not expecting another teacher to surpass Christ, as God cannot be surpassed.

Mahavishnu Orchestra from Syracuse, Skytop 1972

This band is one of the best electric artists of all-time and features primarily instrumental jazz-fusion. Concerning the little talk at the end, I am not in basic agreement. I think that by going deep within oneself with the highest ideal is not going to spiritually save or alter an individual enough to please God. Since we have sin, human beings need the assistance of an outside force, which is the eternal God through Christ for salvation. Romans 1-3 explains human corruption and need for salvation.

Contrary to what some Christians think, it is possible for Christians to appreciate music from artists with different world-views, while still disagreeing with those philosophies. Christians can guided by God and Scripture to know truth, and appreciate the good in things while recognizing there is error at the same time.

  1. Hmmm, it does start in 10/8 time and goes to 20/8 with the electric guitar solo, but then switches to standard 4/4 when John puts on the (figurative) cowboy hat...

  3. Sometimes it is beneficial for a blog to keep its readers at the edge of their seat hehe. Kidding aside my blog went berserk after sometime. so I have to close it for a day in order to fix the glitch. There are actual hackers hacking my blog.

  4. Army,

I am sorry your blog is a target for hackers, but it is definitely larger than mine are. Please let my readers know in comments if there is anything bloggers should be aware of in regard to blog defence.

    All the best, Army!

  5. Blogspot is actually hack free. I don't recall any blogspot blog that was hacked. The most prone blogs to hacking is the self hosted blogs using Wordpress like mine because we use php files instead ofhtml which blogspotuses. php files are just codes embedded in file formats that is why it canbe easily hacked.

But just to make sure, the best defense is always make your comments area in moderation. do not allow comments unmoderated because sometimes hackers use codes via the comments area.

My blog is not moderated whichmeans anyone can write comments anytime but I use anaggressive software common to all wordpress users which is akismet that filters spams and hackers plug plugins that actually resist strange activities happening on your blog.

Blog spot is a very secured blog platform compared to self-hosted wordpress.

  6. I use WP, till recently self-hosted, though its currently hosted on wordpress, but I prefer to host it myself as WP hosting has limitatons. theme wise and also what you can add like Javascriptsw. So will likely when possible return to self hosting. But, another plug in I used along side, askimet, was "Bad Behaviour" and that certainly stopped any plug ins being used by commenters And also to prevent robots, I can't remember the name but where the commenter has to type on a word for their comment to actually go through as a robot wouldn't do that. That word thing cut out ALL robotic activity.

Just my two bob's of useless info in over coming the WP self hosting vulnerability flaws, in case its useful to anyone else. I do plan to go back to self hosting, even if having to start from scratch and keeping my archives from the past years on WP, as I love WP as a platform, and like the choices you get on self hosting that are not available on WP hosting.

  7. What I dislike about some WordPress blogs is when they each require a personal registration, username and password. I cannot use the username and password from one WordPress blog for another.

In my opinion, on average a WordPress blog looks a little better than a Blogspot one. I changed the colours and appearance of my Blogspot blogs by altering the HTML codes, but in regard to leaving comments, Blogspot is usually easier to use.

    Thanks, Deejay.

  8. ...seriously? The Supreme Being needs to advertise on TV? "Hey, this guy's god incarnate. But you know, no biggie. Just, you know, if you feel like it, maybe you know, you could call, and we could like, send you a booklet or something." Right.

    That band is crazy, btw!

  9. Yea, he needs a booklet and materials to compete with all the other gurus and false teachers (Matthew 24). Not that they are wrong on every single point, but are false teachers concerning the nature of God and salvation issues.

Mahavishnu Orchestra is 'wild' and 'crazy'. Wild Strings is a live Mahavishnu Orchestra bootleg from 1972 which I would compare favourably to my best Rush material. This Syracuse show featured along with some others from Mahavishnu are among my best bootlegs as well.

    Thanks, David.

  10. Thats quite a commercial about terrorism and cars. Very clever, but very disturbing. I can only imagine what our world would look like with no more car bombs or wars.
