we had the same legalization of "civil partnerships" too not too long ago. And statistics are showing already, that they are just as heavily "divorced" perhaps more percentage wise, than one man one woman marriages.
We are however, on the other thing you mentioned experiencing severe prison over crowding, so that crimes which a few years ago, would have guranteed you a jail sentence now gets a slap on the wrist, of community service or something. Building more prisons is the answer, at least here, but, it's not something the goverment seem to seriously think about or consider. They did consider and perhaps took it up a year or two ago, of having "sea bound prisons" in that the prisons were ships at sea, and that way of course, took no resources prison wise from the mainland.
Many countries seem to be facing the same or similar issues. Canada seems one of them.
On the web it can be seen that Stallone endorsed McCain. I wonder who would endorse Dion for Prime Minister in the next election...Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau of the Sûreté?
Thanks for subscribing to my comments. I will take the military in strategic areas to support a lack of police, if needed. I do not think it necessarily erodes personal freedoms.
Oh I see. here in the Philippines its different. When miltary visibility is increased on the streets, tensions built up because it is either on red alert for terrorist attack or an impending martial law. Filipinos has become paranoid due to our experience with Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda Marcos
