'Luis Suarez bite: Uruguay striker accused of biting Giorgio Chiellini in latest controversy during World Cup clash'

'Suarez headbutted the Italy defender before going to ground, where Chiellini then accused him of biting his shoulder'

'Uruguay could be without their most influential player for the rest of the World Cup after Luis Suarez was accused of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.'

'Suarez clashed with the Italian as the two competed for a free-kick, when Suarez clearly threw his head in the direction of Chiellini. The centre-back fell to the floor in agony, immediately followed by the Liverpool striker who was attempting to play the victim of the clash. However, an incensed Chiellini got up and confronted the forward, before pulling down his shirt in an attempt to show the referee what he believed to be teeth marks on his shoulder.'

This is the most incredible part of the story...

'Suarez does of course have previous when it comes to biting, having been banned twice before for similar acts. During his time with Ajax, Suarez was given a seven-match ban for biting PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal. He was then handed a 10-match ban in 2013 for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, in which he was allowed to stay on the pitch and score the equalising goal soon after.'

This player has served seventeen matches in ban and perhaps bites again...

Zombies or Cannibals do not have a team in the World Cup and so that is not an option for this player and so he will need to serve his suspension as part of team Uruguay.

Having played some team sports in my lifetime I can fully acknowledge that there can be pressure to win and not to lose.

Situational ethics can be a temptation. Lowered ethics due to intense temporary pressures that would not be followed in everyday life.

Obviously biting follows in that category...

Under Facebook Search under 'R', of course not too much of a surprise 'Russ Murray' is #1 but thankfully, my new blog account Russell Norman (not Moron) Murray is #6.

  16. Victory in Jesus!

"'The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,' that is, the word
of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,'
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
    Romans 10: 8-10 NIV

Many times I have heard Christians who were raised in the faith from infancy say that a change came to them sometime in mid-life. While they intellectually knew and believed the Bible words of faith and had even joined churches and committed to Jesus, they had never internalized the words. They had never achieved the deep heart knowing that opened their eyes to spiritual truth and growth. Their faith became deeply personal, and they felt a personal relationship with Jesus. This personal infilling of the Holy Spirit is like a second rebirth, a gift of God's grace and love and of growing Christian experience. There may be different ways to describe this enriching experience, but the truth of deepening faith is the same.

For some, this growth also promotes a growth in their relationships with other Christians. From a surface knowledge of others, the new wisdom tends to bring deep empathy and insight into people relationships. The desire for meaningful, caring, and strong relationships with others grows.

The spiritual sharing and grace of exchanging spiritual treasure results. These blessings are straight from God's heart of love. So many graces result from deepening faith, and our joy is complete in the Lord. We experience continued growth toward salvation by faith in Jesus, with blessed assurances along the way.

    Alone in the Valley

Let’s face it. There are times, when we walk through situations and seasons in our lives, when we are lonely. We even feel very much alone. No one is exempt. It’s just part of life. I recall walking through one of these valleys. That 'alone' feeling would quietly creep up and unexpectedly pounce, sometimes seemingly from out of nowhere, sort of like being slammed by a wave. I would rather be on a mountain-top experience; I love those seasons. Yet I’ve learned most of life is lived somewhere in-between. And, I’ve learned it’s all good. And, it’s all a gift.

All the years my dad lived alone, after mom died, I would often say to him, “I don’t like you being alone on Sundays (or a holiday, or birthday)” and he would always say, “I’m not alone! Jesus is right here with me.” He said it so often, that the reality of that finally began to sink in. In every way, Jesus was his companion, there at the house, right there with him.

As I’ve thought about this, the beautiful beloved 23rd Psalm came to mind, where David says,

Even though I walk through the valley …….You are with me.

We all have been, or will be, in a valley season during our life journeys. It is beautiful beyond belief, and peaceful beyond our finite mind’s comprehension, to know and sense the truth of the words in the Bible, that bring comfort and healing.

In the valley I may feel lonely, but am I alone? Not really; Jesus is with me. He’s right here with me.

Husband: Not slim, can be healthy.

    Officer: Colour of eyes?

    Husband: Never noticed.

    Officer: Colour of hair?

Husband: Changes according to the season.

    Officer: What was she wearing?

Husband: Pant suit or dress... I don't remember exactly.

Officer: Was she going in a car?

    Husband: Yes.

Officer: Can you tell me the make, model, colour and license number and any outstanding details of the car?

Husband: Black Audi A8 with supercharged 3.0 litre V6 engine generating 333 horse power teamed with an eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission with manual mode. And it has full LED headlights which use light emitting diodes for all light functions, licence is HAS-GO! and it has a very thin scratch on the left front door.

...and then the husband started crying...

Officer: Don't worry sir, we'll find your car.
